DIMAPUR — A workshop on routine immunisation (RI) microplanning and vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) surveillance for Mokokchung district was held at the conference hall of the chief medical officer, Mokokchung, on Thursday.
Keeping in view the prevalence of vaccine hesitancy behaviour among partially vaccinated (dropout) and zero dose children (left out), the trainees were trained on ways to reach 100% vaccination by identifying gaps, developing a proper microplan and identifying all due children with a proper headcount survey, an update stated. The trainees were also trained on the surveillance of VPD.
Resource persons for the training were Dr. Shiela Longkumer, senior medical officer (WHO) Kohima; Dr. Mhechekhro, rapid response team member (WHO); and Dr. Pangjung, social and behaviour change communication officer (UNICEF) Kohima.
