RAMP initiative conducts workshop in Wokha to promote Made in Nagaland products and strengthen local MSMEs.

DIMAPUR — A workshop on “Promoting Made in Nagaland” was conducted at Chukitong in Wokha district on February 24 under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative.
According to an update, the programme aimed at strengthening local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by enhancing their competitiveness, sustainability, and market expansion potential.
The workshop brought together aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, providing a platform to discuss opportunities, challenges, and growth strategies for locally produced goods. The ‘Make in Nagaland’ session focused on promoting locally manufactured and indigenous products by strengthening branding, packaging, quality standards, and market positioning.

Entrepreneurs were encouraged to explore wider markets beyond the district and state. The session stressed self-reliance, value addition, and building a strong identity for Nagaland-made products.
Special focus was placed on scaling and sustainability of business. The technical expert was Thunglamo Humtsoe, the founder of Urban Growers (the state’s first commercial hydroponics farming) and founder of TM Hydrocultivation Solution Pvt. Ltd.
He highlighted the importance of MSME profitability, raw material procurement, and quality control checklists, where each MSME was also encouraged to note one improvement in their business.
Discussions centred on improving productivity, maintaining quality standards, and creating scalable and sustainable business models suited to evolving market demands.
RAMP is a World Bank programme implemented by the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation and the Department of Industries and Commerce.
