A two-day workshop on PMEGP and other schemes was held for the current batch of Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) students, Peren Government College (PGC).

The workshop was an initiative of Start-up Nagaland, supported by IDAN and implemented by ESB, an update stated.

Inspector, District Industries and Commerce, Peren, Imti Jamir, highlighted the credit schemes aimed at supporting entrepreneurs in starting their own businesses.

Programmes under PMEGP, ‘Start-Up Nagaland’ and PMFME Scheme (Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises) were highlighted to the EDC students.

The schemes provide financial assistance to the unemployed youths in the form of loans and credit facilities, making it easier for them to get started with their business ventures.

On day one, the students visited Ngurie, an experimental bio-enhancer centre, and Kendeu Coaching Centre, Jalukie, as a business field trip to understand the challenges, opportunities and mindset of an entrepreneur.

A session on digital marketing was covered by Nlumbui on the second day.

Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) is an initiative programme under the Start-up Nagaland Policy. EDC is supported by Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) to transform Nagaland to be a prominent achiever under Sustainable Development Goals by force-multiplying the strength of the government departments through effective networking.

EDC programme is implemented by Educentre School of Business (ESB). Currently two districts – Peren and Tuensang – are successful been running EDCs in government colleges.
