Workshop on NeGPA held at NIEIT

Participants at the training-cum workshop on NeGP.[/caption] Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Two-day training cum workshop on NeGPA application and services was conducted by Department of Agriculture under National e-Governance Plan in Agriculture (NeGPA), on March 9 and 10, at National Institute of Electronic and Information Technology (NIEIT). Speaking at the workshop, joint director of Agriculture, Nosezole Zao mentioned that the Government of India has approved the centrally sponsored scheme-NeGPA (2014-15) for Nagaland. Following which, she said the department of Agriculture officially launched it on July 29, 2015, and over the year of implementation the Nodal department has setup sites and installed hardwares in 52 sites under Agriculture, Horticulture and Fisheries Department for service delivery to the farmers. She said NeGPA is a scheme which aims to address the needs of the farming community and its stakeholders, through provision of relevant information and services through various delivery channels. She also informed that at present the services that are currently available for farmers to get information can be availed through link www.farmer.gov.in. Zao also said the training cum workshop aimed to upgrade the IT skills of the officials and functionaries involve under NeGPA. She called upon the participants to take advantage of the programme and to equip themselves with necessary IT skill and work towards the implementation of the programme. The resource person for two-day programme were A Morimenba Amer, Deputy Director/ Scientist ‘C’ and Alongla Aier, Pr Consultant, SPMU-Nagaland .
