Dimapur, May 1 (EMN): As a part of the ongoing cultural exchange programme under the banner of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ (initiative of MHRD, GoI), a workshop on culture and traditional heritage of Nagaland was organized on April 30 in the conference hall of Nagaland University, Lumami.
A press release received here on Tuesday informed that during the workshop, Neizhanuo Golmei presented a paper on the “Land ownership systems of the Nagas” highlighting the value of land and the different levels of ownership among the Nagas.
Dr. Maibam Radharani presented on “Representation of culture in art and artifacts” highlighting the material culture and the symbolic meanings embedded in them.
Dr. Neizo Puro made a presentation that included an audio-visual display of the high points of tourism in Nagaland while Dr. Tovishe Phucho presented on “Traditional foods of the Nagas” highlighting the method of preparation and mode of consumption of selected foods such as bamboo shoot, anishi, and axone and Peter Ki presented on the “Rite of passage: A case study of Maram tribe”.
Dr. Bijayasundari, faculty in-charge of the 14-member team from Dr. Harisingh Gour University Sagar gave an overview of Madhya Pradesh.
