DIMAPUR — The Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Nagaland organised a one-day workshop on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technology for the staff of the Directorate of Tribal Affairs, Nagaland, at the conference hall of the Directorate of Tribal Affairs, Kohima, on Monday.
According to a DIPR report, the workshop aimed to enhance digital knowledge and improve the efficiency of office work through modern technological tools and to create awareness on the growing role of artificial intelligence in governance, administration, communication and data management.
The resource persons were Seto Khate, senior technical expert, assisted by Bendang, IT expert.
The resource persons highlighted the basic concepts of AI, practical applications of AI tools in office administration, report writing, drafting official letters, data analysis, presentation preparation and digital record management. Special emphasis was also given on ethical use of AI, cyber security and data privacy in government functioning.

Thirty-five department officials and staff participated in the workshop and attended hands-on sessions demonstrating the use of AI-enabled applications and digital productivity tools.
The participants expressed keen interest in adopting technology-driven approaches to improve transparency, accuracy and timely delivery of services, the report stated.
The moderator of the programme was Tekhingri Sangtam, project assistant, while the keynote address was delivered by K Onglingaku Chang, project officer, TRI Nagaland.
“The workshop concluded successfully with recommendations to organise similar capacity-building programmes regularly to strengthen digital competency and technological adaptability among government employees,” the report added.
