DIMAPUR, MARCH 6

THE All Nagaland Inter-Departmental Field Staff Associations Joint Forum has threatened that the dependents of the work-charged employees will take to the street in all the district headquarters if the State government fails to issues ‘appropriate orders’ with regard to revision of pay and regularization of services of work-charged employees within seven days. The protests will be held against the indifferent attitude of the State government towards the legitimate rights of work-charged employees and their dependents, the Forum said in a joint release.
In a representation to the Chief Minister today, the Forum reminded him of its application dated 3/2/2014 seeking his necessary action and orders regarding revisions of pay and regularization of services of work-charged employees as per direction and orders of Gauhati High Court dated 5/3/2012.
The Forum said during the pay and allowances of work-charged employees have not been revised the last 23 years despite the fact that the salaries and allowances of other categories of employees had been revised twice during the period in consonance with the cost of living.
“That pendency of contempt proceedings have no impact on the attitude of the concerned officials of the Government in the implementation of the orders passed by the Government, the executive, the legislature and the judiciary, when the recommendation submitted by the Work-Charged and Casual Employees Commission following the Hon’ble High Court order, and the Cabinet Sub-Committee Minutes thereof are left neglected by the state cabinet till date,” the Forum said.
