The resource persons were Vahine Thisa, director of treasuries and accounts, and Thepuzhoyi Theyo, pastor of Thenyizumi Baptist Church. Vahine Thisa, in her speech, stressed on the importance of balancing time and effort to cope up with the society. Pointing out that profession of women is never ending, she urged them to make proper use of their time and set aside time for priorities. ‘We tend to gossips about others when women get a little free time,’ she observed and asked them to do away the habit and know the value of time. Reminding that the society needs to grow, she advised the women to avail time for social gathering and contribute for the progress of society. She also reminded them not to neglect family affairs. Stating that essence of the society depended much upon the women, she said, “If women become educated, the society will get better. They can make up the society.” “Men will contribute, but it is the women who beautify it,” she said adding “as women, one should feel free to develop the society.” She bemoaned lack of women participation in decision making. “We don’t have confidence in decision making process; this is because of the gender discrimination existing in the society since time immemorial,” she said. She viewed that the written document should be provided by the parents to the girl child so that equal distribution should be there between the boy and girl child. Vesulu Resu, session secretary, informed that the female literacy in the village was 70.65%. The program was chaired by Vevolu Resu, while the invocation was said by Khono Thisa, welcome address was delivered by Vesetalu Swuro, chairperson, Thenyizumi women society, and greetings was said by Zhothiyi Dawhuo, VCC Thenyizumi.
