Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): The department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources conducted a training programme about value-added fish products, for women, on March 29 at Zunpha in Tseminyu in Kohima district.
Updates from the IPR about the training programme stated that the district fishery officer of Kohima along with the staffs taught the trainees how to make five products such as fish pickle, fish cutlets, fish fingers and fish soups.
The trainees were asked to emphasise on hygienic product packaging and to ensure food safety measures, the updates stated.
During the closing programme, Arhunlo Semp, development secretary, CRBC at Zunpha thanked the department for providing training to the women. Semp urged the trainees to become self-reliant by using the skills and knowledge they have learned during the training programme. Altogether 20 trainees attended the training programme, the updates added.
