Dimapur, April 20 (EMN): The Lotha Doctors’ Forum of Wokha (LDFW) will be wearing black badges as a token of protest against the April 17 assault of a doctor in Wokha by police personnel.

The forum issued a press release on Monday denouncing the reported incident.

‘We, the fraternity of LDF, are deeply pained and hurt at the barbaric assault on one of our members Dr. Mongshithung Murry on April 17, 2020 at Wokha town by police personnel,’ the group stated.

The violent and grievous assault on him is strongly condemned by the LDF, the forum stated.

“We appeal that the law to take its rightful course and those responsible be held accountable so that the trust, confidence and the co-operation of LDF and all doctors in Nagaland are restored.”

Further, the forum stated it has resolved to support the representation to the government of Nagaland given by the Nagaland branches of the Indian Dental Association, Indian Medical Association, and the Nagaland Ayush Doctors Association.

‘The Lotha Doctors Forum has decided to wear black badge for one week to show our resentment and a sign of protest,’ it stated.
