Wokha youth protest frequent power cuts

Dimapur, May 16 (EMN): Protesting irregular power supply, about 70 members of Saron Colony Youth Organisation (SCYO) today marched to the office of Executive Engineer (Power), Wokha, and submitted a memorandum for installation of one transformer in the colony. A press release issued by SCYO president Rikhyo Shitri said the issue was reported to the department in the year 2014 which fell on deaf ear till date. The colony youth and elders jointly submitted a memorandum to the district SDO (Power) to look into the matter and install one transformer in the colony. SCYO informed that a verbal assurance was given by SDO (E) to bring an amicable solution and assure to discuss personally with the Chief Engineer (Electrical) in regards to the problem faced by Saron Colony and different colonies in Wokha. SCYO also demanded for deployment of professional linesman in the district in view of frequent power cuts in many colonies.
