DIMAPUR — The Wokha district administration’s innovative initiative, called the Wokha SAATHI (Smart AI-based assistant for timely help and interface) WhatsApp Chatbot, has won the national gold award for e-governance scheme 2023-2024.
The award was presented by the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, during the 27th national conference on e-governance held in Mumbai on Tuesday.
“This recognition is a significant milestone, marking the first time an initiative from Nagaland state has received a gold award for its exemplary contribution to e-governance. The award underscores the state’s commitment to leveraging technology for efficient governance and improving public service delivery,” stated a DIPR report.
The award and certificate were received by Ajit Kumar Ranjan, Rohit Singh and Anuranjan Singh from Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow (MGNF) on behalf of the Wokha district administration.
It mentioned that under the initiative, more than 40 services have been brought under one-stop chatbot of the Wokha district administration.
“The Wokha SAATHI WhatsApp Chatbot exemplifies the district’s dedication to enhancing citizen engagement and accessibility to government services through innovative technological solutions. This AI-based chatbot provides timely assistance and serves as a user-friendly interface for residents, ensuring they have easy access to vital information and services besides enabling proactive Information Education Campaign (IEC) through a two-way communication between the government and citizens on 24×7 basis,” it added.
