Wokha to conduct training for polling personnel

DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner (DC) and district election officer (DEO) of Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, informed that training for polling personnel and Grade IV staff for the upcoming Lok Sabha election would be held on March 26 and 27.

The training for presiding and first polling officers of all assembly segments from serial no. 1 to 125 (presiding/ male) and serial no. 1 to 125 (PO-I/ male) as well as serial no. 1 to 50 (presiding officer/ female) and serial no. 1 to 50 (PO-I/ female); second and third polling officers from serial no. 1 to 125 (PO-II/ male  and serial no. 1 to 125 (PO-III/ male) as well as serial no. 1 to 50 (PO-II/ female) and serial no. 1 to 50 (PO-III/ female) would be held at GHSS, Wokha at 9:30 am.

Training for Grade IV staff from serial no. 1 to 250 (male) and serial no. 1 to 100 (female) would be held at GHSS, Wokha, at 10 am.

The training for remaining presiding and first polling officers would be held on March 27 at GHSS, Wokha, at 9:30 am.

All polling officers and Grade IV staff are informed to submit a photocopy of EPIC card/ service ID card and two passport size in the first phase of training for availing EDC/ID card.

The concerned department nodal officers are directed to inform all officials and Grade IV staff of the respective department requisitioned for duty accordingly.

Medical board constituted

In view of the upcoming general election to Lok Sabha 2024, the medical board for examining polling personnel for exemption from election duty has been constituted.

The board members are EAC of Wokha, Luchui Fithu, as chairman along with Dr. Chumdemo Kikon, Dr. Wobemo, Dr. Krunichuno Rino and Dr. Pyantsuthung as members.

The medical board for exemption would be held on March 28 from 10 am onwards at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha. As there would be only one sitting for medical board, all the applicants are directed to appear in person before the medical board for exemption on the mentioned date.
