Dimapur, March 26

Calling it terrorism, and an act of cowardice Outraged residents of Wokha town have vehemently denounced the bomb blast that took place in a shop in PWD colony in Wokha on Thursday, March 26, and have demanded that the state government take action against the criminals who perpetrated the crime. The PWD colony council and Lotha Mhonka Okho issued separate press releases on Thursday. The PWD Colony Council has strongly condemned the March 26 bomb blast in the colony. ‘Such incident was quite unbecoming as it creates fear psychosis in the minds of the public adding that such act would not be allow playing any positive role in the democratic society,’ the press release stated.
The council has demanded that the authorities speed up investigations ‘at the earliest’ and initiate necessary action against those responsible for the criminal act.
The council has prayed for speedy recovery of the injured victims. Also, the Lotha Mhonka Okho (Lotha Welfare Society) has denounced the act of the perpetrators who set off a bomb in a shop in the town. The organization said such an act was nothing but terrorism and an act of cowardice.
Terming the incident as an outright act of ‘cowardice, terrorism and crime against humanity,’ the organization has asked the state government to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The organization also asked the perpetrators “not to indulge in such unjustifiable acts as attack on innocent people amounts to violating right to life, whatever their demands may be.”
The state government is asked to ensure ‘extra security measures’ in the market areas “for prevention of bomb blasts in the future.”
