Wokha residents avail medical treatment from health camp

Dimapur, Oct. 16 (EMN): A total of 121 residents of Wokha town were benefitted from an outreach health camp organised by Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Wokha, at Santsuo School under Ward No.10 on October 16.

The medical team was led by Dr. Achumi Kikon, UPHC medical officer, Wokha.

During the camp, Kikon highlighted the prevalence of high number of hypertension and diabetes cases and suggested for more awareness campaigns, an update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Wokha, stated.

Screening of blood for sugar, malaria, HIV and blood grouping were done by the medical staff. It also stated that beneficiaries were also provided free medicines and face masks.

Besides, Covid-19 awareness was also delivered by the health workers and IEC materials on Covid-19 stigma and home quarantine in Lotha dialect were distributed to the participants during the health camp.

Meanwhile, the colony council leaders of Ward No.10 have expressed gratitude to the UPHC staff and assured full support to the health workers in other healthcare activities even in the days to come.
