Wokha prepares for 7th Economic Census

Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): A training programme for enumerators and supervisors for the 7th Economic Census was conducted on June 3 at the deputy commissioner’s office in Wokha.
The government’s publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), gave an update on Monday about the event.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, addressed the trainees. ‘We need to understand the importance of the Economic Census because in implementation of any planning process, developmental activities, schemes and policies of the government, statistical data are taken into consideration and are planned out basing on the census data,’ the administrator told the trainees.

“He urged the supervisors and enumerators to undertake their assigned responsibilities with outmost sincerity for the success of the economic census,” the IPR stated.

Samoon informed that ‘this time the task of collecting data are assigned to the CSC where mobile device/application will be used for entering data.’ According to the IPR, he reminded the enumerators to be ‘dedicated and very serious in their assigned duties.’

The establishment of district Economics & Statistical Officer gave an overview of the Economic Census for 2019 to the trainees, the IPR added.
