Seven persons who distributed food to passengers tagged as low risk; undergoing quarantine

Dimapur, May 31 (EMN): Seven persons who were involved in distributing packed food to passengers of five Tuensang-bound buses on the evening of May 26 are currently undergoing home quarantine.

However, health officials had declared all of them low risk as there was no direct contact with the passengers, according to an official report.

Nevertheless, they were advised for mandatory registration on the nCOVID-19 app and home quarantine for 14 days followed by another 14 days of self-monitoring. They are under ‘intense surveillance and monitoring’.

Epidemiological investigation

Official inquiry determined that only one out of the seven persons had boarded the buses to distribute the food; the remaining six had maintained social distancing.

“All of them were aware of the safety guidelines, including social distancing,” the report stated.

The person onboard the buses was wearing protective mask and gloves, had no direct contact with the passengers, and had maintained personal hygiene, according to the report.

‘All of them have no history of contacts with anyone and went home directly after distributing the packed meals. At present all of them are healthy (asymptomatic) and self-quarantined in a farmhouse at Wokha village,’ it stated.
