Wokha town is set to witness the first edition of Wokha Music Festival from December 18 to the 19th. The festival is being organized by a local events group called the King’s Sound in association with another group, Team Metamorphosis.
The festival will give platform to “all genres of music” and aims at promoting local musicians of the district in particular and the state in general, a press release received here today from the organizers said.“It will also be a good exposure for the upcoming musicians. As someone had rightly said “Music is a language which the blind can see and the deaf can also hear. It is also a very powerful tool which has no barriers or boundaries,” the organizers said. “Therefore if it is used in the right way it can even bring positive social change. Being the first edition, it is not an easy to take such a big step but we will try our best to start.” As co-organizers of the event, King’s Sound will be offering its”20,000 Watts RMS Sound System and its 20 by 30 feet stage free of cost” while Team Metamorphosis will coordinate with the event management.
“This non profitable task is for the benefit of the people,” the organizers said.
The organizers have requested upcoming musicians of the district to contact King’s Images/Hotel Hornbill, in Wokha town for participation.
An audition will be held “to avoid technical hazards during the event.”
Soloists and guitarists and bands can seize the opportunity to ‘expose their talents while being promoted,’ the press release said. Artistes such as Oren Mozhui will be featured during the Music Festival. These two days festival will be totally free for the public, the organizers added.
