Wokha makes more than INR 1 cr. as transport revenue

Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Wokha district’s transport department made approximately INR 1,12,05,039 during April 2019 to January 2020.

The Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was informed about the revenue collection during a meeting that was conducted on March 9 in the deputy commissioner’s conference hall. Orenthung Lotha, the vice chairman of the Wokha board, also the deputy commissioner, presided over the meeting.

The department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), the government’s publicity agency, gave updates informing about the meeting.

The board has recommended registration of Old Changsu Union of Wokha town.

The district transport authorities also gave a report highlighting the status of the department’s activities. It stated that the revenue that has been collected from April 2019 to January 2020 is INR 1,12,05,039, while the total number of driving licenses that have been issued in the district is 17,933.

The medical superintendent of Wokha district hospital also presented the health department’s activities.

The superintendent also apprised the board about the immediate needs of the hospital. In other matters, the deputy commissioner has asked the board members that all preventive measures have been arranged to counter the Coronavirus, the IPR stated.
