Wokha gets new DC’s bungalow

Kazheto Kinimi and other government officials at the inauguration of a new deputy commissioner’s bungalow in Wokha town on December 5.

Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): Nagaland government presented a new deputy commissioner (DC) bungalow as a Christmas gift to the people of Wokha district on December 5.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, the advisor of CAWD and NSDMA Kazheto Kinimi dedicated the new bungalow to the citizens of Wokha district in the name of God Almighty. Kinimi said the new building has now become the property of entire Wokha district although it was constructed by CAWD. He, therefore, stated that the upkeep of the building is in the hands of Wokha public and the concerned deputy commissioner, an DIPR report stated.

The advisor thanked the state government led by the chief minister and the deputy chief minister for their upfront support in providing the fund for timely completion of the bungalow. Kinimi also thanked the contractors M/S ACE Constructions for timely completions and for the job well done.

Commissioner Rovilatuo Mor, in his short speech, expressed gratitude to the state government as well as the CAWD department for coming up with magnificent bungalow. He urged the public of the district to take pride of the building. He also urged the public to make effort to protect and safeguard as well as make good use of the bungalow.

Executive engineer of CAWD Sungtiba Amer, in his technical report, stated that the building was conceptualised in 2014-15 during the tenure of the then deputy commission of Wokha Rovilatuo Mor. He informed that the building has a total of 15 rooms and the estimated cost of construction was INR 278. 48 lacks. He added that the stipulated time of completion was 24 months.

The deputy commissioner of Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, who chaired the programme, thanked the state government for providing such beautiful building. He also thanked CAWD department as well as the contractor for completing the building incorporating all required requirements of DC’s bungalow.

Later in the day, the advisor along with his entourage interacted with the Wokha district disaster management authority. The DC Wokha, who is also the chairman of WDDMA, briefed about the preparation and activities undertaken in the district.

The advisor, accompanied by the commissioner, executive engineer of CAWD along with Wokha district administration, inspected the new site for the DC’s complex.
