Dimapur, Sep. 4 (EMN): A district-level convergence plan committee on “Poshan Maah 2020” meeting was held at the deputy commissioner’s (DC) conference hall in Wokha on Friday, an update from DIPR informed.
Briefing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Orenthung Lotha said that more attention and efforts need to be given as the scheme focuses on bridging the gap which anganwadi cannot cover in terms of nutrition. He also suggested giving more emphasis at the rural areas to make the programme more effective.
District co-coordinator of Poshan Abhiyaan, Wokha, Shanjothung Ngullie highlighted the activities to be carried out in the district during the month-long programme which includes events like youth leaders meeting, poshan seminar, local leaders/panchayat leaders/NGOs, young mothers’, cleanliness, programme on adolescents girls and cooking competition-cum-closing ceremony.
The programme will be carried out with department of Social Welfare, Health and Family Welfare, local administration, NRLM, AWCs and self-help groups as service providers. He also informed that similar programmes with different action plans will also be carried out in block levels as well.
Members also suggested ways and means as to how to go about with the targeted plans so that the programme is successfully implemented.
