Wokha DC office declared ‘tobacco- free zone’

Dimapur, May 24 (EMN): Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Wokha, Chonpenthung Ezung, in an official notification, informed all concerned that the office of the Deputy Commission has been declared “Tobacco Free Zone.” In this regard, all enforcement officers are requested to enforce the said notification and initiate action against any defaulters under relevant section and to check compliance by all the concerned. Some of the guidelines for compliance included “You are entering into the tobacco free zone,” “Taking tobacco products inside the premise/ building is prohibited.” The notification stated that a box should be placed at each entry gate of the building and any person who possesses any tobacco products should put in the box before entering into the premise. A board would also be displayed containing the following warning, “Use of any form of tobacco in this premise is prohibited and is punishable offence with fine up to INR 200 in English or one Indian language as applicable.
