Wokha BS&G celebrates ‘International Day of Peace’

DIMAPUR — Wokha district unit of the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BS&G) on Thursday celebrated ‘International Day of Peace’ at Santsuo School with Thungbeni Ngullie, president of Lotha Eloe Hoho and vice president of BS&G Wokha, as the special guest on the theme “Actions for peace: Our ambition for the global goals.’

Speaking at the programme, Ngullie stated that every religion in the world teaches peace and added that when there is peace, there is happiness. She also challenged the gathering to commit themselves to the global cause and pledge to take action both individually and collectively to usher in peace.

The programme was chaired by Zuchoni Ezung, guide of Santsuo School, Wokha, while the welcome address was delivered by Loyibeni, headmistress of Santsuo School. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Chonbemo Lotha, scout master.

Meanwhile, the BS&G Wokha has thanked the principal of Santsuo School, Wokha, for allotting the school campus for celebration of the day. It also thanked the headmistress and unit leaders for their support in making the programme a success.
