DIMAPUR — The interim Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF) of the erstwhile undivided Dimapur has lauded the Dimapur Police for arresting the main culprit in the extortion and abduction case of October 10.
Having been empowered by the chairman of the Ceasefire Supervisor Board (CFSB), it stated that the dedicated and professional Nagaland Police swung into action and resulted in early delivery of justice.
A WNYF press release issued by its media cell has also lauded all the tribal youth organisations, business associations and individuals who stood together until justice was served. It stated that the society can be free from all the social evils only if the Naga youth work together.
Meanwhile, it strongly urged the competent authority to book the arrested culprit under NSA so that the established law would not be made a mockery time and again.
WNYF also appealed to the Ceasefire Monitoring Board/Ceasefire Supervisory Board to strictly implement the ceasefire ground rules and to ensure the Ministry of Home Affairs rectify those glaring loopholes at the earliest.
As declared on the day of WNYF formation, it demanded that the designated camps, mess and Ceasefire Supervisory Board offices in public places be removed at the earliest.
It also urged the concerned villages, which have issued no objection certificates (NOCs), to revoke them at the earliest, adding that any villages not doing so would be held responsible in case of any public nuisance and disturbance.
It further appealed to all the right-thinking citizens to stand up for each other in the common fight against extortion, abduction, dead threats and intimidations in society once and for all.
