- DIMAPUR — In the
ongoing 5th Late G Rio Memorial Men’s U-19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament,
Niuland and Kohima registered wins in their respective matches played on
Thursday.
- At the Nagaland Cricket Stadium in Chümoukedima, Niuland
defeated Zunheboto by 5 wickets, according to an update.
- Zunheboto, batting first after winning the toss, were bowled
out for 119 runs in 29.2 overs. Nikato Zhimo scored 79 runs off 69 balls, while
the rest of the batting line-up struggled. For Niuland, Sujit Laskar took 3
wickets for 20 runs in 7 overs, and Rizwan took 2 for 9 in 2 overs.

- Niuland chased the target in 31.4 overs, finishing at 120
for 5. Jeetender top-scored with 38 off 40 balls. Hino Zhimo and Oloka B
Rochill took 2 wickets each for Zunheboto. Sujit Laskar of Niuland was named
Player of the Match.
- At the Sovima Cricket Ground, Kohima beat Dimapur by one
wicket. Dimapur chose to bat first and were dismissed for 122 in 32.5 overs.
Shyerinlo was the highest scorer with 19 runs. For Kohima, Solomon Awungshi
took 3 wickets for 35 runs, and Jenithung Ezung took 2 for 25.
- Kohima reached the target in 38.5 overs, ending at 126 for
9. Awungshi scored 26 runs, helping to guide the team to a narrow win. Medempok
Pongen of Dimapur took 5 wickets for 36 runs. Awungshi was named Player of the
Match.
- On April 11, Kohima will face Peren at the Nagaland Cricket
Stadium, and Chümoukedima will take on Tseminyu at the Sovima Cricket Ground.
Both matches are scheduled to begin at 9 am.
