Wins for LCYO and Royal Strikers

Wokha, Dec. 21: The first match of the day in the ongoing winter cricket challenge Lower CMHS Youth Organisation(LCYO) defeated Athletic Brothers Club(ABC) by 82 runs with a massive 107 not out for Renjanthung of LCYO to be the third player get a century in the history of winter cricket challenge.
ABC had won the toss but elected to bowl which turned out to be a disaster as Renjanthung was unstoppable as he hit 16 fours and 4 sixes to get a total of 107 off 67 balls.
ABC scored a total of 190 runs in 20 overs with a loss of only 2 wickets.
ABC were all out for in 19.1 overs with a score of just 108 runs with.
Renjanthung was again in the limelight when he took 2 wickets conceding just 9 runs in 13 balls. He was adjudged the Man of the Match.
The second match of the day saw a close finish as Royal Strikers defeated Team Mavericks by just 12 runs.
Royal Strikers won the toss and elected to bat garnering a total of 137 runs in 20 overs with a loss of 8 wickets with runs from Elithung of 40 in 22 balls and Mhonbemo with 33 in 21 balls.
Team Maverick had a fine start and had scored 46 in almost six over when Myinthung was dismissed and the team could not recover after that.
Royal strikers won the match by 12 runs
Vicky of Royal Strikers bagged the Man of the Match with his economy rate of 11 runs and one maiden in 4 overs and a quick fire of 25 runs while batting
The ongoing match Winter Cricket Challenge on the theme “Bowl Out HIV/AIDS”, also saw a well wisher K.N. Mhonthung Lotha who will donate Rs. 500 for every six that ids hit from the semi finals onwards.
The money collected will be utilised for conduction HIV/AIDS awareness camp in Wokha town.
