
The torn-off tin roof from the College of Veterinary
Sciences and Animal Husbandry in Jalukie, scattered across the ground after the
windstorm on Wednesday.
- DIMAPUR — A
powerful windstorm swept through the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal
Husbandry in Jalukie, Peren district, between 1:40 pm and 2:15 pm, causing
significant damage to the college's infrastructure on Wednesday.
- According to an update, the dean's office was hit hardest by
the storm, with the tin roof being torn off, leading to severe damage in the
establishment section, accounts section, and the dean's chambers.
- Despite the intensity of the winds, most staff members
escaped injury, except for one faculty member who sustained a minor head
injury. The injured faculty member received prompt medical attention, requiring
six stitches, and is now recovering well.

- In the aftermath, the affected sections have been relocated
to the new administrative-cum-academic block, which is yet to be officially
inaugurated, ensuring the continuation of daily operations without disruption.
- The college administration is assessing the extent of the
damage caused by the storm.
