Windows 11 officially launches on October 5

Dimapur, August 31 (EMN): Two months after Microsoft revealed its new Windows 11 OS, the company on Tuesday announced that Windows 11 will launch on October 5.

The announcement was delivered through a blog post on the official Windows website with the company stating that a free upgrade to Windows 11 will begin rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PCs on October 5.

In its official blog, Microsoft wrote, “Today, we are thrilled to announce Windows 11 will start to become available on October 5, 2021. On this day, the free upgrade to Windows 11 will begin rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PCs and PCs that come pre-loaded with Windows 11 will start to become available for purchase. A new Windows experience, Windows 11 is designed to bring you closer to what you love.”

Windows 10 users who want to up upgrade their OS to the new Windows 11 can go to Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates.

Microsoft has already revealed the basic requirements for running Windows 11 on a PC: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores, 4GB RAM, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0 and at least 64 GB of storage space.

Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 will officially support Intel Core X-series, Xeon W-series, and the Intel Core 7820HQ.
