Wikedon from Tening village was declared winner of Peren Voice Impact season-5 which was held at New Peren District Headquarters on October 30, while Ms Bamile from Samziuram was declared the runner-up and Ms Keringsamyile from Jalukie B was adjudged the most promising artistes of the evening. Besides winning the award, Widedon was also conferred the viewers’ choice award.
The Peren Voice Impact season-5 was organised as part of the Mini Hornbill festival commemorating the Zeliangrong festival Chaga Gadi and Lamsimngi which was celebrated on October 29- 30. The Peren Voice Impact season-5 was organised by the Peren District Music Society.
Advisor of Rural Development, Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire was the special guest of the event. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Kire has appreciated the society for organising such event in bringing together various artistes from different corners of the district to compete on one platform. He has also applauded the winners of the past event who have excelled both at regional and national level thereby taking the musical talents of the state to greater heights.
Other highlights of the event included special appearance by Ipungchule Ndang, runners-up of Peren Voice Impact Season IV and Albert N Hau.
Winner of Peren Voice Impact season-5 walked away with INR 10,000.
