Wihiambo FC win Jalukie Valley Open Football Tournament
Dimapur, Feb. 26 (EMN): Defending champions Wihiambo Football Club, Jalukie ‘B’ emerged winner of the 14th Jalukie Valley Open Football Tournament after defeating Benreu Football Club in the final match at Jalukie ‘B’ village local ground, Peren district on Feb. 25. This was stated in an update from the DIPR.
Champions Wihiambo FC received a cash prize of INR 1 lakh along with a running trophy while the runners-up, Benreu FC were awarded INR 50,000. Ashung Konyak and Jacob Nring of Wihiambo FC were named as the best goal-keeper and best player of the tournament respectively.
The prizes were handed over to the winners by special guest, ADC Jalukie, Dr Tinojongshi Chang.
The eight-day long football tournament was organised by Jalukie Valley Youth Organisation (JVYO).
