Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): Wicket Wizards cricket club defeated De-Legends CC in the finals of the 2nd Trojans Trophy 2021 played at local ground in Zunheboto on Dec 20.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Wicket Wizards set a handsome target of 152 for De-Legends to chase in the stipulated 20 overs, an update from DIPR informed.
The captain of Wicket Wizards Vinoka I Sumi, scored 35 runs, partnering with Kanato Aye who contributed 29 runs during their opening stand of 59 runs.
Chasing the target, De-Legends CC were bundled out for 127.
The winning club went home richer with a cash prize of INR 50,000 and a trophy and the runner-up won a cash prize of INR 30,000.
Hutoho Kiba of De-Legends was declared the man of the tournament for his all-round performance; best bowler award was given to Bablu Qureshi of Wicket Wizards club, Nihuto of De-Legends club was adjudged best fielder and the man of the final match was won by Vinoka I Sumi of Wicket Wizards club.
The tournament, which was kept suspended for three days by the organisers in solidarity with the victims of Oting, commenced on Dec. 11 and culminated on Dec.20, it said.
