Whenever a job vacancy is advertised, politicians are never at peace — Mhathung Yanthan
DIMAPUR — The advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, said on Tuesday that whenever a job vacancy is advertised in Nagaland, the politicians are never at peace because everyone comes to them asking for favours and getting them employed.
Mhathung Yanthan, who was speaking at the inauguration of ‘Perfection, a Unisex Spa and Salon’ at Duncan Basti, Dimapur, stated, however, that at this time and age, they cannot do it.
He lamented that in Nagaland, only government jobs are considered employment, while other jobs or businesses are not. He said that the jobs in the government sector are saturated, and moreover, for a single post, thousands of applicants compete.
He urged people to be trendsetters and entrepreneurs, becoming job providers rather than seeking government jobs, citing Nagaland as a land of opportunities. He added that there is a lot of potential in Nagaland for jobs and enterprise, and applauded the proprietor of Perfection, Zareni Kikon, for her entrepreneurial spirit.
He noted that spas, beauty, and wellness are very important facets of life, and people should avail themselves of such facilities to relieve stress and tension.
Mhathung Yanthan also mentioned that In Nagaland, a lot of spas are mushrooming because of demand, and they are doing exceptionally well.
Kikon, proprietor and style director of Perfection, said during the event that she was looking forward to the occasion and that it represented an important milestone because it was her passion to blend ‘beauty with attitude.’ She also assured of giving the best service.
