Western Sümi Hoho flays ‘kidnapping culture’ in Nagaland
DIMAPUR — The Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) on Monday vehemently condemned ‘the kidnapping culture’, which has seen a concerning surge in of late.
Most of the kidnapping, it said, is done by various groups for monetary reasons.
Citing the recent abduction of a businessman from Kohima, allegedly by a Naga Political Group, the WSH denounced ‘such deplorable acts that have overtaken the Naga society’.
To address this alarming trend, the hoho said that the groups or factions responsible for extortion and kidnappings should be disclosed to the public to make them aware of who is acting against the collective will of the people.
“Such continuous acts are going to invite the public wrath in the coming days if those doing these despicable acts don’t restrain themselves and stop from these kinds of anti-social acts that are jeopardizing the peaceful co-existence and harmony amongst the different communities,” read the statement from the WSH.
