Welfare assesses children with special needs

Dimapur, May 16 (EMN): A camp to assess children with special needs was organised by the Sarva Shiksha/Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland Education Mission Society recently.
The event was held at the Educational Block Resource Centre of Nagarjan on May 16 in Dimapur, updates stated.
The camp was stated to have been conducted in collaboration with the department of Health and Family welfare, Star Key at New Delhi, and the department of Social Welfare.

The government’s publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued on May 17 updates about the event.

About 166 children attended and ‘benefited’ from the camp, the IPR reported.
According to the IPR, the assessment camp was organised to offer check-up to visually impaired children and for those who had disabilities such as locomotion disability, hearing impairment etc.

For hearing impaired children, hearing aids were provided on the spot, the updates stated. Assistive devices will be provided as part of the Samagra Shiksha after the completion of the assessment camps, the IPR stated.
