Dimapur, June 20 (EMN): Commemorating the annual ‘World Blood Donors Day,’ the Voluntary Blood Donors Association Kohima (VBDAK) organised a week-long blood donation camp from June 14 June to the 19. The camp was jointly organised in collaboration with the Assam Rifles and supported by the blood bank of Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK).

Terming this year ‘significant,’ the association stated that the demand for blood was higher compared with the previous year because of the pandemic situation. It added that the blood donation camp was successfully conducted as people have turned out in large numbers despite the current Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions.

It informed that altogether 31 voluntary blood donors turn up to donate their blood during the week-long donation camp.

Meanwhile, the association has thanked all the donors, doctors, nurses, technical staff and all the media for their priceless devotion and expressed confidence that it would have a huge impact on blood donation drives in the state. The association further invited all those who are interested to enrol themselves as voluntary blood donors.
