Website on drugs’ harm-reduction launched

Nongovernmental organization North East India Harm Reduction Network has launched a website Monday. Leaders of the organization Teiso Solo and W Chinithung Humstoe launched the website at the NEIHRN secretariat at Centre for Community transformation in Walford in Dimapur Monday.NEIHRN is an organization that aims to reduce the harm associated with injecting drug use in north eastern region of India, specially blood borne diseases through a process of networking, information sharing, advocacy, program and policy development and publication.
The nongovernmental organization aspires to strengthening leadership and creating a repository of knowledge for harm reduction in North east India.
The project is funded by AUSAID through the UNAIDS. The website will be a ‘knowledge hub’ on research, reports, and documentaries on harm-reduction as collected carried out by various nongovernmental agencies and individuals from northeast India. Researchers, social workers, nongovernmental organizations and people who want to know more about harm-reduction in north east context may avail the resources free. Financial contribution to NEIHRN for furthering the cause is welcome and appreciated.
