Weather forecast: Heavy rainfall expected across Nagaland

Dimapur, May 30 (EMN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has forecast isolated heavy rainfall across Nagaland till May 31st.

It said thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds is very likely to occur in certain pockets in the districts of Kohima, Wokha, Kiphire, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, and Longleng during this period.

The NSDMA also urges the public to be vigilant during the monsoon period and avoid taking shelter under large trees or have outing near river banks to prevent unnecessary risk to life from lightning and flash floods. It also requests all the DDMAs and line departments responsible for attending to emergencies caused by natural calamities, to be on alert and save lives and properties during this monsoon period.
