Weather forecast for Nagaland: Rain expected next 7 days
Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): Nagaland is expected to receive more rainfall in the coming seven days, according to a forecast by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA).
“With a strong weather system forming over Bay of Bengal on September 20, rain activities in the state will get stepped up between September 20-22 and again from September 25-26. No extreme weather activity is expected during this period. Most of the thunderstorms and lightning accompanied with rain will happen during evening and night. The state will experience better weather conditions between 10 am-5 pm during this period,” it stated.
The NSDMA informed that the state has received seasonal deficiency of 29% rainfall from June 1 to September 17. Tuensang recorded the highest deficit at 63% followed by Wokha (53%).
“A total of 95 mm rainfall received this month so far and appears to be the least in last many years,” it added.
The NSDMA has urged the public to exercise caution.
