Dimapur, Dec. 18 (EMN): Rev. Dr. Wati Aier, Convenor of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), said that the word “Naga” would be incomplete is a tribe or tribes are excluded and that “we must stop talking about eastern, western or southern Nagas; we must become one to make a complete Naga”.

He said this at a pre-Christmas get-together event organised by the Southern Nagas’ Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) with all tribal leaders of Nagaland state based in Dimapur, on Friday at Poumai Baptist Church, 5th Mile Model village.

An update from SNUNS stated that Aier expressed deep concern over the lack of trust for one another and every community living in their own cocoon.

“Today we are so divided. This is our own creation. The warring culture is still in our minds. We must do away this in the name of Christmas as Christians. We must become one and live as one,” he said.

President of Eastern Nagas Peoples’ Union Dimapur (ENPUD), L Shahoto Yimchungru urged the leaders to retrospect and introspect where Nagas have gone wrong today. “Unity first before anything, and ENPUD stands for that. We have to work it out,” he emphasised.

SNUNS president, Sanii Putukho delivered the welcome address while Kashungnao Worshim, general secy chaired the programme which was attended by about 60 leaders from various communities.

Treasurer of Tenyimia Union Dimapur, Veshu Vero and senior citizen NA Kasar also spoke at the event conducted by strictly adhering to SOP provided by the state government.
