Dimapur, Oct. 16 (EMN): The central executive council of Naga National Council (NNC), Peace Camp, Chedema, has asserted that the group has nothing to do with the ‘framework agreement’ and the ‘agreed position’ respectively signed between the government of India, NSCN (IM) and working committee of NNPG.

The NNC issued a press release on Friday ‘cautioning’ these groups not to mislead Nagas and jeopardise the Naga position.

It stated that the group will ‘defend the Naga national rights’ on the basis of ‘the formal declaration of Naga Independence on August 14, 1947; the Naga Plebiscite on May 16, 1951; the formation of the Federal Republic of Nagaland on March 22, 1956 by amalgamation of the Naga areas; and to safeguard the territorial integrity of Nagaland as defined in Article–1 of the Yehzabo of Nagaland’.
