WE CARE: A Concert for a cause

THE much awaited and acclaimed concert in Mokokchung- ‘We Care IV’ is all set to be held at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on December 15. This year’s edition of We Care is being held in aid of Mokokchung Law College under theme “Resurgence” organized by Ao Kaketshir Mundang (AKM).
Informing this at a press conference at AKM president Chamber here today, Takotong Longkumer, Co-Convener, organizing Committee expressed that We Care Concert has a long tradition for organized the mega event with a purposed to do better things for the society.
He also added that this year’s concert organized in aid of Mokokchung Law College- the only Law institute in the district is set with a target-to open a corpus fund for the institute for revamping and other purposes.
AKM president L Jemti Longchar also shared that the Mokokchung Law College established in 1981 is a sole property of the Ao’s which was conceptualized through a resolution during the AKM Golden Jubilee Celebration at Longkhum village in 1979.
They also mentioned that each Ao families have contributed rupees one to started the college during those days and since its inception, the Mokokchung Law College has produced nearly 200 law graduates, which now 35 years old at present. At present, they are nearly 100 students pursuing their studies in Law.
The highlights of the concert includes Incipit as the guest band, the popular Ao Band Samaro, Tune –up Channel- “Best Nagaland band” at the Hornbill International Rock Contest 2015, Sensational band- Beyond Sunday and Lenjeter. Female artists include the elegant Imnasenla Aier, Ayusangla, and Yangerjungla.
Parliamentary Secretary for Land Resources, Exercise & Natural Calamities, BS Nganlang has consented to be the chief guest on this occasion. The paid concert also includes a raffle draw.
While the countdown to the much-awaited nears, the AKM, and organizing committee has also requested the citizens of Mokokchung to show solidarity with the Ao Kaketshir Mungdang once again in its fourth We Care concert in aid of Mokokchung Law College.
If judged by the success of the previous editions of ‘We Care’ concerts, this year edition is surely expected to be a night of solidarity as people are expected to turn up by the thousands to witness local artists belting out their favorite local hit songs live on stage.
