Wokha, June 15 (EMN): Wokha District Entrepreneurs’ Association (WDEA) celebrated its 8th foundation day at the Wokha District Village Council Chairmen’s Association and  Wokha District Village Development Board Association multipurpose hall on June 15 on the theme “Entrepreneurship growth and avenues.”

Resource persons namely M Mhabemo Kithan, economic investigator/ inspector of industry at DIC, Wokha, and Anuranjan Singh, skill development officer, Wokha, have highlighted various central flagship programmes.

Mhabemo Kithan has specifically highlighted on the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Prime Minister Formalisation of Micro Enterprise (PMFME), wherein he briefed on the eligibility and process in availing loans. He encouraged the young entrepreneurs to avail the facilities and make use of the schemes positively.

Anuranjan Singh has highlighted schemes specifically meant for the women in the field of business through Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) to enable them realise their entrepreneurial aspirations.

He spoke on various schemes like Vikaspedia platform to bridge the gap between entrepreneur and government schemes; special credit linked capital subsidy scheme (SCLCSS) to promote new enterprises and support the existing enterprises, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna (PMMY) to provide credit support to non-corporate, non-farm small or micro enterprises; stand-up India to facilitate loans from INR 10 lakh to INR 1 crore.

Renpithung Kikon, president of Wokha District Chamber of Commerce Industry (WDCCI), and Thungdemo Kyon, a social worker, have instilled the local entrepreneurs to work together and exchange ideas in their speeches. They have urged the business community to accommodate the youth by providing job platforms and opportunity.

The programme was attended by around 30 individuals from various business sectors including services providers, manufacturing units, small tea growers and local business units.
