WCYO Sports meet 2014 begins

With its motto “Stride in Unity”, Western Chakhesang Youth Organization (WCYO) Dimapur District Sports meet 2014 got underway today at Diezephe Village with Minister for Road & Bridges and Parliamentary Affairs Nagaland Kuzholuzo (Azo) Neinu as the Chief Guest.Expressing his gratitude to God for adding one more day in each one’s live, chief guest also thank the WCYO for making this sports meet happen as this will bring all Chakhesang community together as one. Sharing his experience as a student of Sainik School where he was brought up with discipline, punctuality and hardship he called upon sportsmen to cultivate these desire in order to be successful.
Lamenting on the scene of sports in the state, he stated that when it comes to sports every individual take it casually and are self-satisfied which should not be. The public have high respect for sportsmen so accordingly sports should be practiced and perform accordingly said Azo.
Sport is a win-lose game where every sportsman considers winning to be very important. Azo encouraged the participants to consider spirit of participation more important than winning. Urging upon them to keep away from materialistic pleasure, he appealed the players to do away with ‘ism’ during the play and enjoy game in true sportsmanship.
During the opening ceremony, noting the culture of presentation, Azo urged upon every individual and organization to avoid this culture in order to avoid unwanted outlay.
The sports meet which will be held from 6th to 11th January have 15 teams participating from Dimapur area. Special Guest MLA & Chairman Development Authority of Nagaland N. Jacob Zhimomi who could not make it for the meet owing to unavoidable situation extended his greetings and wishes to WCYO. The sports meet was declared open by chief guest.
