WC-NNPG says anti-Naga elements using cash, propaganda to destroy unity of its members

DIMAPUR: The Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) has claimed that anti-Naga elements are using cash and criminal propaganda to destroy the unity and comradeship within its members.

“Some vulnerable senior members have been bought off already and some are being contacted with the promise of great financial incentives,” read a statement issued by the media cell of WC-NNPG.

It added that easy accessibility through mobile phones has allowed the “discharged and terminated” members “to easily contact, mislead and brainwash semi-illiterate senior leaders with false information about senior colleagues”.

On its position in connection with UNPG/NNC leadership, the committee said the group is represented by senior leader Toshi Walling, General Secretary and Co-Convener, in the Government of India (GoI) and WC-NNPG political negotiations, while Vice President Kiviho Zhimomi had attended all important meetings of the committee and was part of decision making in the absence of Z. Royim (80) “who is limited by age” and stays in the village.

While urging for reconciliation within the UNPG/NNC leadership, it encouraged Royim to respect his age and Naga issue, and remain in the WC-NNPG as per the decision of UNPG/NNC emergency declaration, failing which, it said will only recognise Kiviho Zhimomi “President” and Toshi Walling, General Secretary, as legitimate leadership of the group.
