Dimapur, Sep. 22 (EMN): The Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC NNPG) led by its Convener N Kitovi Zhimomi had an informal meeting with the government of India’s representative AK Mishra in Dimapur on Wednesday.
“The WC welcomed the former Spl. director IB to Nagaland and expressed hope that the Naga people’s political aspiration will finally be fulfilled,” read the release issued by the media cell of WC NNPG.
It informed that Mishra had said the “Agreed Position” signed on November 17 2017 “remains an incomparable political document reaffirming Naga political and historical right, guided and empowered by the Naga tribes, traditional institution like the Nagaland Gaon Bura Federation (NGBF), the church and other Naga civil societies”.
“The GoI representative was also informed that all political matters have been touched upon and formal negotiations had concluded on 31st Oct. 2019, in New Delhi,” it stated.
“The GOI representatives were briefed on the disturbing trends of abduction for ransom, threats and intimidations against traders, embezzlement of public wealth in the garb of Naga struggle by gangsters and criminals, owing to delay in announcing acceptable political solution,” it added.
‘Since the negotiations had completed with all negotiating groups, WC NNPG pointed out that it is a right time for the GoI representatives to gauge the pulse of Naga tribes and civil societies and sign the political agreement without delay,’ it continued.
