WC-NNPG directs imposters to submit money collected from business outlets

Dimapur, Feb. 22 (EMN): The Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) on Tuesday directed those who had collected cash from business outlets by posing as its representatives to “submit the collected amount to the Co-ordinator or any of the WC Co-Conveners within one week, beginning from the publication of this statement”.

An update from the group stated that the business fraternity in Dimapur and surrounding areas had been facing threats and intimidations from dubious characters posing as WC-NNPG members and demanding financial assistance.

It said “a clear case of criminal intent and activity has been identified” and attempt by anti-social elements to destroy the camaraderie and brotherhood of the group. It added that the detail of imposters and extortion amounts has been unearthed.

Failure to submit the collected amount within the stipulated, the group said it will “arrest and declare quantum of punishment against the offenders according to their crime” in the interest of the business community.

‘All business establishments and proprietors are requested to keep a vigil and identify those demanding financial assistance in the name of WC-NNPG,’ it added.
