DIMAPUR — The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in collaboration with Google and YouTube, has launched a nationwide Artificial Intelligence (AI) Skilling Programme aimed at strengthening capacity in the Media and Entertainment (M&E) sector.
The initiative, anchored under the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, seeks to democratise access to high-quality AI training for creators, developers, and media professionals across states and union territories, according to a DIPR report.
The programme offers fully sponsored scholarships for premium courses, enabling participants to access industry-recognised certifications free of cost.
The curriculum is structured across two key learning tracks: Foundational AI & Prompting, which focuses on the use of generative AI tools for creative ideation, storytelling, and content development; and Generative AI Leader (GAIL), designed for professionals to understand the business value and responsible implementation of generative AI technologies.
Upon completion of Phase I, participants will be eligible to progress to Phase II, which provides hands-on training on advanced tools such as Vertex AI, Gemini, and Google Cloud, specifically tailored for media workflows. Students, creators, and media professionals can avail of the opportunity. Interested candidates can register online at aiskillhouse.iict.org.
