The Western Angami ‘D’ Group Sports Association (WADSA) 43rd meet (wrestling) is scheduled from January 13-14 at Kiruphema Bawe Ground.
The inaugural function would be graced by Rovilatuo Mor, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, as the chief guest, while the Satuo Sechü, president, Western Angami ‘D’ Group Organisation (WADGO) will be the guest of honour for the closing ceremony.
Over 50 wrestlers, including seniors and juniors (Under-14), from Sechüma, Sechü Zubza, Kiruphema, Menguzouma and Thekrejuma villages would be taking part in the two-day wrestling event.
The winner of the wrestling championship will fetch a cash award of Rs. 20,000, sponsored by Rüüngutuo Sechü, finance secretary, Naga Hoho and proprietor, Christian Mission School, Sechü, while the 1st runner-up will receive Rs. 15,000, sponsored by Theyievilie Suohumvü, deputy mission director, SMA, SSA. The third and fourth place winners will also be given Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 7,000, sponsored by Vitsalhou Kesiezie, chairman, Menguzouma Village Council and Apelhou Krose respectively.The prizes for junior category wrestling is sponsored by Rüüngutuo Kruse, chairman, Thekrejuma Village Council, while the prizes for free style is sponsored by Pelevisie Rhatsu, chairman, Sechüma Village Council.
Meanwhile, WADSA officials have informed all the units to reach the hosting venue on January 12. The units are also asked to come prepared with an entry fee of Rs. 3,000 each, along with two flags.
It has been informed that there will be a meeting on January 12 evening comprising WADSA office bearers, wrestling officials and unit representatives. The units have also been informed to come prepared with the birth certificates for the four junior wrestlers.
