Voters in Kohima advised to get details verified

Dimapur, Sep. 18 (EMN): The district electoral establishment of Kohima has asked voters in the district to get their electoral details verified.

The Election Commission of India has launched the electors verification programme (EVP) which is from September 1 to October 15 to enable electors to verify their electoral roll data.

The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates on Wednesday offering details about the verification programme.

The deputy commissioner of Kohima district, Gregory Thejawelie, informed electors to check their electoral details for any correction that might be needed. They are advised to update the details where required, through the national voters’ service portal ie. nvsp.in or the voters helpline app, which can be downloaded from Google Playstore; respective block level officers through the BLO app, or through the common service centres and voter facilitation centres, the IPR stated.

The electors can submit or upload any one of the given documents for documentary proof: Indian passport, driving license, Aadhaar, ration card, government ID card, bank passbook, farmer’s identity card, PAN card, RGI smart card or with the latest water/electricity/telephone bill in the name of the applicant or their immediate relation like parents etc.

The deputy commissioner informed registered electors to get their details verified and authenticated between September 1 and October 15 without fail, the IPR stated.
