Volleyball championship held in Bhandari

Dimapur, Feb. 22 (EMN): 40 Assam Rifles F-Coy organized a volleyball championship at the Bhandari town sports ground from Feb. 17 to the 21st.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhandari, Rohit Singh lauded the initiative of the Assam Rifles for organising the championship to help promote the spirit of discipline, unity, and social harmony, an update form APRO Bhandari informed.

The ADC said organising more such events should be encouraged to discover, motivate and direct the youths of today to sporting opportunities, it stated.

The final match was played between Bhandari village and Marachü (Merapani) village, in which Bhandari village emerged the winner.

Besides the Championship trophy, gold and silver medals and cash prizes were given away to the winning team and the runners-up teams.

Major Harish Joshi also expressed gratitude to the villages for their support and fruitful participation in the championship, it added.
